Detectives Investigating Death in Downtown Seattle

Seattle police detectives are investigating the death of a 44-year-old man in Downtown Seattle this evening.

At 6:23 p.m., patrol officers responded to reports of male down, bleeding, near Union Street and Convention Place. There, police found a man with obvious head trauma and they performed CPR. The Seattle Fire Department (SFD) arrived and continued medical care. Despite all life-saving efforts, SFD pronounced the man deceased at the scene.

Officers cordoned off the area until homicide detectives and the Crime Scene Investigation Unit responded to process the scene and collect evidence.

The King County Medical Examiner will take custody of the deceased. They will identify the man and determine the cause and manner of death.
