Police Arrest Suspect in Capitol Hill Stabbing

Police arrest man following a stabbing early Tuesday morning in Capitol Hill neighborhood.

At 5:01 a.m., dispatchers received reports of a stabbing near East Pike Street and 10th Avenue. Officers arrived and found a 30-year-old man with two stab wounds to the torso. Officers provided aid until Seattle Fire Department medics arrived and transported the victim to Harborview Medical Center with non-life-threatening injuries.

Police later located a man matching the suspect description near Belmont Avenue and East Olive Way. The 36-year-old man was positively identified and was taken into custody.

Detectives with the Homicide/Assault are leading the investigation and will determine what led up to the stabbing.

The suspect was transported to King County Jail and booked for investigation on assault.
