At 1428 hours, dispatch received a call from a citizen that someone was currently trying to break into their home with an unknown object. Officers quickly arrived on scene and were able to detain the suspect as he was getting into the driver’s seat of a vehicle. Officers developed probable cause for residential burglary, and the suspect was placed under arrest and booked into KCJ.

At 16:30 hours, police responded to a report of woman stabbed in the foot in the 1200 block of Madison Street. Upon arrival, officers learned the female victim was stabbed along a trail near the intersection of 6 AV South and Yesler Way near Kobe Terrace Park. According to the victim, the unknown male suspect assaulted her without cause. The male suspect was described as an unknown race male, wearing a blue surgical mask. There was a significant time delay, but officers attempted to locate the scene and the suspect which yielded negative results. Victim was transported to Swedish for further medical care for the non-life-threatening injury.

At 2306 hours, multiple calls into 911 about hearing shots fired near the Rainer Community Center. One witness observed an individual with a handgun firing it into the air. Officers arrived and located evidence in the grassy area of the community center, just north of South Alaska Street. Officers processed the scene and collected the evidence. No property damage was located or victims with GSW. GVRU was notified.

At 2221 hour, officers were on a call for service and parked their patrol vehicle curbside. Officers returned to their vehicle to find the patrol vehicle damaged. Both spotlights were destroyed along with both driver and passenger mirrors. The damage to the driver’s spotlight and also damaged the windshield. Suspect was not located during an area check. 243 was notified. PC exists for Malicious Mischief 1.
