Seattle police officers arrested a 45-year-old man after fleeing from cops in a stolen car and crashing into a light pole near Magnuson Park.
Just before 2:00 a.m., officers patrolling near Seattle’s Children’s Hospital found a stolen vehicle. The driver failed to stop and fled from cops at a high rate-of-speed.
Shortly after, officers found the car crashed into a pole near Sand Point Way Northeast and Northeast 65th Street. Police also found the suspect running away from the vehicle and caught him after a brief foot chase.
Police arrested the suspect for multiple crimes including Eluding a police vehicle; Possession of a stolen vehicle; Possession of Methamphetamine; Possession of Heroin; Hit and run; Obstructing a public officer; and a $15,000 warrant for Unlawful possession of a firearm.
Officers recovered 13g of Methamphetamine, 2. 3g of Heroin, and Fentanyl pills. Police towed the stolen vehicle from the scene.
Officers booked the suspect into the King County Jail after being medically evaluated at the hospital.
