Police Investigate Robbery in Chinatown-International District

Police are investigating a robbery that left a 21-year-old man injured Tuesday afternoon in the Chinatown-International District.

At 4:38 p.m. on March 3, officers responded to a report of a stabbing in the 1200 block of South King Street. Officers arrived and found the victim suffering from a deep cut to his face. Police provided aid until Seattle Fire Department medics arrived and transported him to Harborview Medical Center with non-life-threatening injuries.

Patrol officers cordoned off the area, and a K-9 unit arrived and searched for the suspect. Officers did not locate the suspect, and no arrest was made.

The investigation revealed that the victim and suspect interacted for about four to five minutes before the assault. The suspect stabbed the victim and stole cash from him before running northbound into Hoa Mai Park. The circumstances leading up to the assault remain unclear, and the victim was uncooperative with police.

Officers processed the scenes for evidence. Robbery Unit detectives will be leading the investigation.
