Seattle police detectives are investigating an early morning fatality collision in the Interbay neighborhood.
Shortly after 5:00 a.m., officers responded to a collision involving a car driving into a power pole in the 1500 block of Elliott Avenue West.
Officers arrived and found a 53-year-old woman who had been ejected from her car. She was found lying unresponsive on the sidewalk. Officers provided lifesaving measures until the Seattle Fire Department arrived. Despite lifesaving efforts, medics pronounced the woman dead at the scene.
Detectives determined the woman was driving southbound and lost control of her Jeep. She struck the pole and was ejected. Speed and weather may have been contributing factors in the collision.
Detectives from the Traffic Collision Investigation Squad (TCIS) responded and processed the scene. The investigation remains open.
