Detectives are investigating a stabbing Tuesday evening in North Beacon Hill neighborhood that left a 35-year-old man seriously injured.
At about 5:51 p.m., dispatchers received reports of a stabbing in the 3000 block of Rainier Avenue South near a transit station. Officers arrived and found a man suffering from two stab wounds to his left leg. Seattle Fire Department medics treated the victim at the scene and transported him to Harborview Medical Center in serious but stable condition.
Witnesses said two men chased the victim into an encampment west of the scene shortly before the assault. After the assault the man was loaded into a shopping cart by a witness and wheeled to a nearby transit station where a community member call 911.
Officers searched the area but did not locate the primary scene. No suspects are currently in custody.
Detectives with the Homicide and Assault Unit are leading the investigation and working to determine what led to the stabbing.
