Update: Man Arrested in Connection to Belltown Homicide

On April 29, a 34-year-old man was arrested in connection to a robbery and homicide that occurred on April 9 in the 2400 block of 4th Avenue. The victim, a 41-year-old man, suffered a gunshot and died the following day.

The U.S. Marshall’s Task Force arrested the suspect. The suspect was later booked into King County Jail for Investigation of murder and robbery.

Armed Robbery in Belltown Upgraded to Homicide

Seattle police detectives upgraded the Belltown armed robbery yesterday to a homicide following the death of the 41-year-old man at the hospital earlier this morning.

At about 3:35 a.m., the shooting victim died at Harborview Medical Center. Detectives in SPD’s Homicide Unit took over the investigation. There is still no suspect in custody.

Detectives Investigate Shooting During Robbery in Belltown

Detectives are investigating a shooting that left one man critically injured and another hurt during a robbery early Thursday in Belltown neighborhood. 

Shortly after 5:30 a.m., dispatchers received reports of a shooting at an apartment in the 2400 block of 4th Avenue. Officers arrived and found a 41-year-old man suffering from a gunshot wound to the head. Officers rendered aid until the Seattle Fire Department arrived and the victim was transported to Harborview Medical Center in critical condition.

A second man was assaulted and pistol-whipped during the incident, sustaining minor injuries.  

The investigation revealed the suspect shot the first victim and assaulted the second man during the robbery.   

Police secured the scene, and Crime Scene Investigation Unit along with detectives with the Robbery Unit responded to lead the investigation. Detectives will work to determine what may have been stolen during the robbery.   

The suspect is currently not in custody.
