#2026-118535/West Precinct/First Watch/K2

At 0517 hours, an unhoused community member, was sleeping on the sidewalk/street near the intersection of Alaskan WY S and S Dearborn ST with all of his possessions stashed in a wagon nearby. The suspect rode by on a bicycle and attempted to take the wagon but the victim was woken up due to the theft attempt. The victim intervened to retain his wagon, and the suspect pulled out a firearm and pistol whipped the victim. The victim was not willing to give up his belongings. The suspect then fired one shot toward the ground and pistol whipped the victim again. Despite this, the victim did not relent, and the suspect gave up his attempt and rode away on his bicycle. Patrol officers quickly arrived, located the suspect and detained him. A firearm was recovered and the Robbery Unit responded and assisted with the on-scene investigation. The suspect was booked into King County Jail.
