At 0200 hours, officers developed PC to arrest a subject for DV assault. The suspect resisted arrest resulting in Type 2 UOF and additional units needed to take him into custody. Suspect booked into KCJ.
#2026-142994/North Precinct/Third Watch/N3:
At 0058 hours, a 27-year-old male was driving a 2011 Kia Soul northbound on Aurora Ave N approaching N 90th St. At the same time a 23-year-old male was driving his 2009 Volkswagen Jetta southbound on Aurora Ave N approaching N 90th St. The driver of the Kia entered the northbound to westbound turn lane and began his left turn on the red traffic signal without stopping. The driver of the Jetta had a green traffic signal and tried to avoid the collision but was unable to. Seattle Fire arrived and CPR was performed on the driver of the Kia. The driver of the Kia was transported to HMC. At the time of this report that driver was unresponsive and in critical condition. The driver of the Jetta suffered minor injuries. The driver of the Kia was believed to be impaired. Officers applied for and were granted a search warrant for a sample of the driver’s blood for toxicological testing. The driver of the Jetta was evaluated by a DRE, and it was determined the driver was not impaired. TCIS responded and processed the scene.

At 1025 hours, Chief Sealth High School staff reported that a student was in possession of what appeared to be a firearm. While escorting the student outside the school, staff observed an object in the student’s waistband that appeared to be a firearm. The student was also listed as a missing person
#2026-144100/West Precinct/Third Watch/K1:
At 2116 hours, West Precinct Patrol Officers were dispatched to investigate a reported sexual assault located in the 100 BLK of 1 AV S. When Officers arrived, they observed a male sexually assaulting a female. The male suspect fled on foot and Officers pursued. After a brief foot pursuit, the suspect was taken into custody. The female victim reported that the suspect had strangled her and raped her. The original caller corroborated the victim’s story and later positively identified the suspect. SAU was screened but did not respond because the victim was adamant that she catches a bus to Spokane to obtain treatment for her narcotics addiction. She was interviewed over the phone by SAU and advised checking into a hospital in Spokane to complete a SANE. The suspect was booked into KCJ.
