#2026-190826/North Precinct/Third Watch/U2

At 0204 hours, officers responded to NE 45th St and University Way NE for a report of someone shot. Officers arrived and located an adult male with a GSW to his chest. Officers provided medical aid until Seattle Fire Department Arrived. The victim was transported to Harborview Medical Center (HMC) in serious condition and immediately taken into surgery. According to witnesses, there was a disturbance inside Raising Canes, which spilled out onto the adjacent sidewalk. At least two males then engaged in a physical fight. At some point during this fight, the victim was shot and the suspect fled the scene. Patrol processed the scene and recovered evidence. Gun Violence Reduction Unit responded to the scene and HMC. As of this report, the victim was still in surgery.

#2026-190914/East Precinct/First Watch/G1

At 0556 hours, East patrol responded to a GSW drop off at HMC. The victim was dropped off by a white sedan that quickly left the area. The victim sustained GSWs to his head and arm, but he is in stable condition. The victim had no ID and could not be identified at the time of this report. Patrol collected video evidence from hospital and the victim’s clothing. GVRU notified.

#2026-191114/West Precinct/First Watch/D2

At 1014 hours, a 79-year-old woman was driving her Honda eastbound on Denny Way. The driver, for unknown reasons, entered the westbound lanes of travel and passed stopped eastbound traffic (stopped for a red traffic signal) as she approached Dexter Avenue North. At the same time, a 33-year-old man was riding a Lime bicycle southbound on Dexter Avenue North. The driver entered the intersection and struck the bicycle rider then proceeded across the intersection and struck a Toyota, which was pushed into third vehicle. The bicyclist was transported via Seattle Fire Department medics to Harborview Medical Center (HMC) and as of the latest update, was in serious condition and was going to be admitted. The driver was taken to HMC by AMR. The female driver of the Toyota was also transported to HMC after initially declining medics. The 79-year-old driver was evaluated by a Durg Recognition Expert (DRE) officer who responded to HMC. The DRE officer believed the driver was impaired. The DRE officer applied for and was granted a search warrant for a sample of the driver’s blood for toxicological testing. TCIS responded and processed the scene.

#2026-191923/North Precinct/Third Watch/N3

At 2329 hours, officers responded to a report of shots fired near North 97th Street and Aurora Avenue North. Callers also heard a man yelling that he had been shot. Officers arrived and located an adult male with a GSW to his lower right leg. The victim was treated by SFD and transported to HMC, via AMR. The victim declined to provide details about the incident. Officers obtained information that a white sedan was possibly involved. Officers located the scene and recovered evidence. GVRU responded to HMC to interview the victim, but again he did not provide further information. GVRU will handle the associated follow-up.
