At 1833 hours, multiple calls came in about a possible DUI subject acting erratically and threatening people in the area. A traffic unit and a patrol unit responded to the call. Upon arrival, they contacted the suspect, who was in the driver’s seat of his car. There was clear drug paraphernalia visible in the passenger compartment and within reach of the suspect. The suspect’s behavior was erratic, aggressive and non-compliant. During the interaction, the suspect armed himself with a broken glass bottle and attempted to exit the vehicle. A Taser was deployed but appeared ineffective and then OC spray was deployed, which was effective. The suspect was taken into custody without further incident. Seattle Fire arrived on scene and medically cleared the suspect.

At 1419 hours, officer responded to calls of a subject slumped over in a running van. The van returned as a recent SPD stolen out of Magnolia. The van fled seconds before officers’ arrival. Within thirty minutes officers found the vehicle and again the driver was slumped behind the wheel in the middle of a roadway. The driver fled in the vehicle but soon lost control and crashed into a tree. The incident occurred in a residential neighborhood with many pedestrians and children in the area. Patrol officers followed at a safe distance and took the suspect into custody. There were no injuries. Suspect was arrested for PSV, ELUDING, DUI and HIT AND RUN. Suspect was transported to NW Hospital for medical clearance prior to booking.

At 1740 hours, officers responded to an assault call. Upon arrival, the victim stated she had exited a bus and walked past the suspect who was yelling and cussing at no one. The victim does not know the suspect. After walking past the suspect, she could hear someone running up behind her and out of fear, braced herself. The suspect then kicked a trashcan that was next to her and began punching her in the back while yelling “fuck you bitch”. Officers quickly arrived in the area and were flagged down by witnesses who pointed out the suspect. The suspect was taken into custody without incident. The victim complained of pain in her back but was otherwise uninjured.

At 1803 hours, dispatch broadcast a fight involving a gun. The call stated a male had another male in a headlock who was armed with a gun. Officer quickly arrived in the area and was informed the suspect with the gun was at a nearby bus stop. Officers detained that individual who was extremely uncooperative and agitated. The suspect was frisked for weapons, but none were located. The original caller, who was driving by, returned to the scene and confirmed the detained subject was involved in the fight but was not the subject with the gun. They pointed officers to the area the altercation took place and stated it looked like the subject with the gun was racking the slide, like they were unloading it; multiple unfired bullets were located. The detained subject was identified and released from the scene. He denied the presence of a gun and stated the fight was over a stolen dog.

At 2025 hours, a witness was walking on the beach of Lake Washington when he heard gun fire. He looked up towards the roadway and saw muzzle flashes through the foliage and the sound of a vehicle accelerating northbound. Officers arrived and located evidence in the roadway. Vehicle traffic in the area was heavy. No property damage observed, or victims of GSW. Officers processed the scene. GVRU notified via email.

At 2252 hours, officers responded to an armed carjacking near the intersection of NW 97th St and 6 Ave NW. The victim stated that three males, armed with handguns and a rifle, struck him in the head and stole his vehicle. Officers quickly responded into the area. The victim was treated for a contusion and laceration to the head by SFD. The victim was transported home and a canvass for surveillance footage was ongoing at the time of this SIR.
