Detectives Investigating Gunfight in Downtown Seattle, Two Firearms Recovered

Seattle Police detectives are investigating a gunfight between two males in Downtown Seattle Saturday night.

At 9:49 p.m., patrol officers responded to reports of a shooting in the 1800 block of Minor Ave. They arrived and located an adult male suffering from two gunshot wounds.

Officers provided medical aid to the 26-year-old victim until the Seattle Fire Department arrived on scene and continued aid. The male was transported to Harborview Medical Center in serious condition.

The suspect fled the scene before Officers arrived and was not located.

Police determined that an altercation broke out between the two men prior to the shooting. A 39-year-old security guard attempted to intervene and was grazed by a bullet. His injury was not life-threatening.

Additional bullet damage to a nearby business and vehicle were located. Multiple shell casings were collected. Two guns were recovered and seized as evidence.

Detectives with the Gun Violence Reduction Unit arrived and processed the crime scene and will take lead on the investigation.
