Detective Mark Jamieson

I have been on the Department since 1994, working a variety of assignments. I started off working nights in Ballard for the first five years of my career. I’ve also worked on the Anti-Crime Team, learning how to work in plain clothes and serve search warrants; as a King County Drug Court Liaison; in the Homeland Security section; and worked during the World Trade Organization demonstrations in late 1999.

During my time with the department, I took the opportunity to go back to school, earning my Masters in Public Administration from Seattle University in 2007, when I also joined the Public Affairs Unit.

I am a native Washingtonian, originally from Anacortes. I became interested in public service, particularly police work, while attending and working at Seattle U in the early 1990s. After almost twenty years on the department, I still enjoy coming to work every day.
