This site contains Significant Incident Reports (SIRs). The types of reports that qualify as “significant” varies so here is what we consider significant.
- Assault with significant injury
- Bias crime
- Event likely to generate media attention
- Event likely to generate community concern
- Hostage/barricade
- In-custody death
- Officer assaulted
- Robbery
- Shots fired (with damage or evidence)
- Significant crisis events, including those resolved without force
- Type II and Type III use-of-force investigations
- Any other event a sergeant believes is significant
Incidents such as homicides, sexual assaults, domestic violence, child abuse and custody dispute calls, while significant, contain information that may identify the victim in a certain case and may not be posted here.
These reports are a small portion of the information we gather at an incident and are based on early information. Information in an officer’s final report may differ from the text contained here and should be considered more accurate.

- Sunday– April 28, 2024#2024-114655/South Precinct/Third Watch: Officers responded to a shooting at Beacon AV S and S Bayview St. Officers arrived and processed the scene. Approximately 45 shell casings from different firearms were recovered at the scene. The gas station, and several surrounding buildings and apartments were struck by gunfire. No injuries were reported. GVRU was notified.
- Saturday– April 27, 2024#2024-113689/Southwest Precinct/Third Watch: At 0042 hours, officers responded to a fight call located at the 4400 BLK of California Ave SW. - Friday– April 19, 2024At 0734 hours, the suspect attacked / threw several items at the victim at NW 56 St / 22 Av NW. The motive behind the assault was the perception of the victim’s race, as identified by the suspect. The victim was not injured but had to defend himself. The suspect was arrested without incident.
- Thursday– April 18, 2024#2024-104695/South Precinct/Third Watch: At 0317 hours, Officers responded to the 10200 block of Waters AV S for a report of shots fired in the area. Officers located a scene consisting of casings and a live round. The scene was photographed, and evidence collected. No injuries and no property damage were located.
